Iwamoto Art Sword Shop was established in 1990, Osaka Japan. In 1971, Mr. Iwamoto was employed by the Nakamiya Art Sword Shop which is the longest established sword shop in Osaka. The owner of the shop was Mr. Nakamiya Keido, who was a leading authority in sword circles. In 1990 Mr. Iwamoto went independent and established his own shop. In 1991, Mr. Iwamoto took over as head of the Namihana Kodogu Kenkyu-kai (Sword Fittings Research Society) .
