Dear sir;
My name is ali asghar mortezaee. I was born in 1967 in Iran. I educated in my hometown_hamedan_ and then finished my education in English literature in shiraz university in 1991. Many years ago gazing at wood carvers' works, as a young boy, I often thought of innovating something new to reflect my sense of beauties, feelings, interests, and believes. Eventually the idea of creating quranic tableaux out of wood struck me. As you may have noticed one of the manifestations of beauty that sometimes is very fascinating and charming is the design and decoration of wood. This, along with the fact that the tenderness of flowers and leaves; the falling and raising of stems are appeared in the most beautiful style of Persian calligraphy (nastaligh) formed the motive to combine four arts of calligraphy, wood carving, illumination, reticulation; and associate quranic verses with arabesque. In addition to the perfect varieties, and the eye pleasing calligraphies; the most outstanding and unique aspect in my works is that from the frame to arabesque and from arabesque to every letter in each tableau are carved just from one single wooden plank. That is, no part is stuck to the others. To get more information and to visit more samples, I invite you very kindly to refer to my website and hope you enjoy it. I believe that the works I presented contribute something unique to the world of quranic arts and something special to the world of culture and values at large. Having participated in different group and individual exhibitions in my country, I would like to hold foreign exhibitions to introduce and present a new quranic art and ultimately sell them. So, I should be very grateful if you would kindly provide me any information and in this connection.
