Sanghai Plastic Industries Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in September 1979 and is the flagship company of the Sanghai Group. Sanghai Plastics was the first company to introduce multilayer co extruded PE blown films in the Nepalese flexible packaging industry and is the leading supplier of multilayer sheets in Nepal.

The company commenced operations with a modest beginning of 300 MT yearly of polyethylene film. Successive capacity additions have increased the installed capacity to 3600 MT yearly.

Sanghai Plastic has a well equipped laboratory at its plant site to test film structure for seal characteristics and mechanical properties. In 1997 the company imported a modern plant from Korea to manufacture Polypropylene Multifilament yarn for PP bands.
