We mine iron ore and make it into pellets for shipping to the steel mills,

There are many steps in the mining/pellet making process. Here is how it is done:

1. Ore is blasted out of the ground, then loaded and hauled by giant trucks to the plant.

2. Next it is crushed a number of times until it is a fine powder.

3. The ore is separated from the other stuff in the powder, mixed with clay, rolled into marble-sized balls, then baked at a very high temperature in big kilns.

4. Finally, the pellets are put on trains and sent to duluth, minnesota where they are loaded on ore boats and shipped across the great lakes to Chicago to be made into steel.
