With the ever changing energy structures happening all over the globe, we at Canadian Gasifier are installing 'Off Grid' systems in many of our local areas, due to the requirements of our clients wanting one consistent set of requests, 'lower overhead cost of operation', and 'non-reliance of grid technology'. Back in 1999 when everyone was so alert to the 'Y2K bug' we undertook one simple mission, to promote 'Green Solutions' to both heating requirements, and electrical needs of our close Canadian Clients.
In the course of finding new and innovative methods of electricity production, we realized that heating was also a prime concern of many of our clients; we therefore looked to alternative fuel sources, and found that 'biomass' (trees, straw, etc.) could be a sustainable solution for both heating and electricity production on the smaller scale.
Let us clarify 'smaller scale' Generally most of our systems are in the area of 250 Kilowatts Thermal, this is a respectable sized system, capable of heating approximately 1000 square meters, and generating 40 kilowatts of 110/220 single phase power (other sizes and configurations are readily available) concurrently. This is known as 'CHP' (Combined Heat and Power) system. They can be skid or trailer mounted for remote location production, or stationary systems for farm or small business use.
